Here is portion of an article that appeared on the Beaches Metro News that features our shop and customer service.
Think community, shop locally
by Carole Stimmell
Local resident Susana Molinolo took time to write me with her thoughts.
“Our family makes every effort to shop, dine, donate locally, but, we only support those that make customer service a priority. I think the businesses that will keep their doors open in 2009 are those who resort to good old fashioned values: greet their customer with a genuine hello and smile, give genuine thanks, follow through on their guarantee(s), provide fast service, and provide resourceful information. It seems so basic, but truth be told, there are many businesses and service providers in our community who have forgotten these basics.
“I’ll give you a perfect example from today: I was doing family errands along Queen Street and was enticed by the window display at Beaufort Road Design; I thought to myself ‘I’ll go in, and if I’m treated with respect I’ll buy a little something’. Shirley Rumundi, the owner, treated me like a long lost friend. She was gentle, inviting and genuinely pleased to meet me. There is nothing I needed, but decided to invest in keeping this wonderful lady’s store in our community. I spent $11.30, yet, she treated me like I’d spent thousands. Local business owners would learn a great deal if they stopped by and chatted with Shirley."
So there it is from the horse’s mouth (sorry, Susana). We will do our bit, if store-owners are willing to give out good service and value.
